Pictures Not Taken
This is a catalog of minor regrets.
I’m driving. I’m too self-conscious. I don’t have permission. I don’t have the skill. I don’t have the equipment. I can’t get the right angle. I can’t get close enough. The moment passes. I’m working or have some other purpose. I don’t have the patience. The people I’m with don’t have the patience. (Maybe they do have the patience but I don’t want to make them wait.) The worker/security guard/lady walking her dog/guy in a pickup truck is looking at me with suspicion. I push the wrong button. I drop my phone.
