This book deserves a weirder status update than this, but it’s all I’ve got at the moment: I’ve previewed, preordered, started, stumbled, and restarted this book a couple of times now, but this time it is taking and I’m sure I’ll continue…

Re-read the first chapter, which I previously read as a digital sample, and which I believe I also read an early version of previous to that a year or two ago in The Atlantic or The New Yorker or somewhere like that, convulsively pre-ordered the book and impatiently waited for it to come out and arrive in the mail, only to not start it for a month or two since receiving the book, and I am only now getting to it. Ditto for The Wayfinder by Adam Johnson, which I also compulsively ordered in the same shipment. Will get to that soon as well, I think?

(Slipping in an “Items Obtained” sidepost here at the end as well, I guess - Hardcover copies of The Pathfinder by Adam Johnson and Will There Ever Be Another You by Patricia Lockwood. I’m kind of ashamed of where I ordered them from now, so I don’t want to say…okay it was Target of all places - we’ve had one of the 5% off credit cards there forever - but never again for preordering books, or much of anything else. WTEBAY does have at least one short scene in a Target so far, so might have been appropriate, actually.)

Well at least I’m not a whole year behind on every album…

Branching out into some of the collaborators on  DeBÍ TiRAR MáS FOToS now…

Chuwi: Tiny Desk Concert : NPR / Chuwi: Tiny Desk Concert - YouTube
Chuwi: Tierra (EP)
Chuwi: Pan (EP)

They’ve released only singles and EPs so far. I should source or build a playlist of all their tracks…

Edit: chuwi (Apple Music Playlist by Janelle Trasancos) - I probably would rather have one that goes from newest to oldest, but this is a thorough, chronological one on Apple Music that appears to start at the beginning and was just updated last week, so this will do for now.

These tracks really popped out in mixes, and I had to grab the album. I’ve listened three or four times now and I think I want to like this a little more than I actually do. Still objectively great, though, and I still will probably give it more listens in the future.

It’s 2025’s ANGIE but with 4 more tracks now and a different cover image. Nothing to complain about.

Almost endlessly listenable, it turns out. Guess maybe that’s why he’s the most-streamed artist in the world…

Un Verano Sin Ti has been sitting in my library for 4 years now and I don’t know if I ever listened to the entire album until now. So behind.

A Christmas present to myself arrived in the mail today, an Autumn Eternal fan shipment.

I’ve wanted a physical copy of this album for years now, glad they re-released it. Also, obtained my first ever metal t-shirt to match my now metal hair. (Picture of my metal hair not shown; I usually keep it in a bun, anyway, which probably isn’t very metal.)

Purchased:

• Panopticon - Autumn Eternal 10 Year Anniversary Edition CD (Pre-Order) – The Bindrune Webshop
• Panopticon - Autumn Eternal Shirt (Pre-Order) – The Bindrune Webshop

Also considered:

• Panopticon - Autumn Eternal 10 Year Anniversary edition 2LP – The Bindrune Webshop - these look beautiful but I couldn’t justify getting vinyl, don’t know when I would ever actually listen to it on vinyl
• Panopticon - Laurentian Forest Metal Shirt Design – The Bindrune Webshop
